It's been a year since Oscar Porras graduated from Massey University as a qualified vet and joined the VCM team. So, what better time to reflect on his first year at the clinic and find out a bit more about him...
"I grew up on a gumboot-shaped island in the Philippines with all sorts of animals: cats, dogs, chickens, pigs and fish!
My parents, younger brother and I moved to Auckland in 2015 and I began studying to become a vet in 2018. After graduating at the start of this year, I travelled a little further south to start my first job as a qualified vet here at Vet Clinic Morrinsville!
I absolutely love working with the team at VCM! They are a reliable bunch who are easy to get along with and enjoy a bit of cheeky banter.
Outside of the clinic
I am a proud follower of Jesus who strives to live life and love others with Christian values.
I enjoy spending time with friends, whether it be eating together, playing board games, or hiking up a mountain. The most recent hobby I've picked up is the card game Bridge!
As much as I love spending time with people, I do enjoy a quiet night in watching movies or playing video games as well."
